One critical piece in understanding the Hebrew Scriptures is some of the symbolism used. Egypt represents “the world,” the worldly way of looking at life, as opposed to God’s way. When verses are shared, you should have your Bible and study the context. Some details brought out here are likely different from your translation, as one delves into the language.

It is important to realize that death does not necessarily mean physical death. As in Eden, the man and the woman, having disobeyed God’s command, did not instantaneously drop dead. They died in their spiritual life. They were removed from God’s presence.

What is a Paragogic nun (PN), or nun paragogicum as Gesenius refers to it? In Semitic languages, paragogic letters are what scribes add to the ordinary forms of words in order to express some additional emphasis and/or some change in the sense.
A good example of this PN is in Exodus 20: 12 where the word יארכוּן ya-a-riy-khun. As per Benner, the root is the verb ארך (A-R-K, Strong’s #748) meaning “be long.” The prefix י (ya) and the suffix ו (u) identify the verb as imperfect tense, and the subject of the verb as third person, masculine plural–“they will be long.” The suffix ן (n) is called the paragogic nun, which adds the idea of “must” or “certainly” to the verb–“they will certainly be long.”
To find two PN’s in one verse is extremely rare! In the Masoretic Text of 1 Sam 2:22 two paragogic nuns appear. An interesting discussion on this can be found here:

Notice there is a distinct shift here, Moshe/Moses telling the people (plural), they are to walk, fear, keep, obey, serve, hold fast, and then speaking to us each as individuals that there are those out there who will come to us in our individual lives that can easily lead us away from God’s way. These must be put out of our lives. They must die to us. We are in the ongoing process of our Abba bringing us out of the world, redeeming us. We can easily be led astray from that walk. We need the community with us to help us in this journey.

At the giving of the Teaching at Mt. Sinai, יהוה spoke that he had brought them out of a worldly life, enslaved by forces not of God.
As they prepared to enter the promised land, after forty years of learning in the wilderness that he was trustworthy, and after a generation died out that simply could not give up their past way of life, יהוה speaks that he is bringing them out of their worldly past, their being constrained by external forces.
And in both instances, he is speaking to them as individuals, in the singular. As with “salvation” in Yeshua/Jesus [Yeshua means salvation], there is a “moment of redemption” or awakening, of being brought out of our worldly past, our enslavement to whatever we have lived. But there is a process of learning that he is trustworthy. Some things simply have to die out, some behaviors, some friendships, some established beliefs. It is a continuing process of bringing them out, of growing closer to God. That is how each of us is able to fight the ongoing battles that face us in the land that we are crossing over to. We need the fellowship of other “lovers of God” to help us walk, fear, keep, obey, serve, and hold fast as those trials come. And they will come. The teaching in the Greek Scriptures is not new. It is a restating of what was said before.
