17 So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good. 18 Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able (h3201. יָכֹל yâḵôl) to perform it by yourself. 19 Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. 20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. 21 Moreover you shall select from all (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl מִכָּל) the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place (such) over them (to be) rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. 22 And let them judge the people at all (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl) times. Then it will be (that) every (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl) great matter they shall bring to you, but every (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl) small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier (h7043. קָלַל qâlal) for you, for they will bear (h5375. נָשָׂא nâśâ’) (the burden) with you. 23 If you do this thing, and God (so) commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl) this people will also go to their place in peace.”

Oh, and by the way, did you notice all four are related, cognate permutations? As we get more and more into the tabernacle this will become more and more important. All of this comes, I assure you, from no brilliance on my part, only being led. I stumble onto things I would never have discovered without a shepherd’s staff guiding. Otherwise, I easily fall off the cliff.
Your “assignment” is to ponder these four roots and their relationship. Perhaps later more in-depth study will come.

Exodus 39:21-32
21 And they bound the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue(h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ) cord, so that it would be above the intricately woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate would not come loose from the ephod, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
22 He made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all (h3632. כָּלִיל ḵâlîyl) of blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ). 23 And (there was) an opening in the middle of the robe, like the opening in a coat of mail, with a woven binding {all around} (h5439. סָבִיב sâḇîyḇ) the opening, so that it would not tear. 24 They made on the hem of the robe pomegranates of blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶתṯeḵêleṯ), purple (h0713. אַרְגָּמָן ’arg̱âmân), and scarlet (h8144. שָׁנִי šâniy), and of fine woven (linen). 25 And they made bells of pure gold (h2091. זָהָב zâhâḇ), and put the bells between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe all around between the pomegranates: 26 a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe (h4598. מְעִילme‘îyl) to minister in, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
27 They made tunics, artistically woven of fine linen (h8336. שֵׁשׁ šêš), for Aaron and his sons, 28 a turban of fine linen (h8336. שֵׁשׁ šêš), exquisite hats of fine linen (h8336. שֵׁשׁ šêš), short trousers of fine woven linen (h0906. בַּד ḇaḏ), 29 and a sash of fine woven linen (h8336. שֵׁשׁ šêš) with blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ), purple (h0713. אַרְגָּמָן ’arg̱âmân), and scarlet (h8144. שָׁנִי šâniy) (thread), made by a weaver, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
30 Then they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold (h2091. זָהָב zâhâḇ), and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving of a signet:
HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
31 And they tied to it a blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ) cord, to fasten (it) above on the turban, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
32 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting was finished (h3615. כָּלָה ḵâlâ). And the children of Israel did according to all (h3605. כֹּל ḵôl) that the LORD had commanded Moses; so they did.

2 Chronicles 2:5-7
5 And the temple which I build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. 6 But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain(h3557. כּוּל kûl) Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a temple, except to burn sacrifice before Him?
7(6H) Therefore send me at once a man skillful to work in gold and silver, in bronze and iron, in purple and crimson and blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ), who has skill to engrave with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.

12 Hiram also said:
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who made heaven and earth, for He has given King David a wise son, endowed with prudence and understanding, who will build a temple for the LORD and a royal (h4438. מַלְכוּת malḵûṯ) house for himself!
13 And now I have sent a skillful man, endowed with understanding, Huram my master craftsman 14(13H) (the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre), skilled to work in gold and silver, bronze and iron, stone and wood, purple and blue(h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ), fine linen (h0948. בּוּץ bûṣ) and crimson, and to make any engraving and to accomplish any plan which may be given to him, with your skillful men and with the skillful men of my lord David your father.
Note תכל in opposite order in מלכות. There is no לכת root, but there are two would-be cognates:
102. Divrei HaYamim II 3:14 (Mikraot Gedolot)
וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת הַפָּרֹכֶת תְּכֵלֶת וְאַרְגָּמָן וְכַרְמִיל וּבוּץ וַיַּעַל עָלָיו כְּרוּבִים.
2 Chronicles 3:13-14
13 The wings of these cherubim spanned twenty cubits overall. They stood on their feet, and they faced inward. 14 And he made the veil of blue (h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ), purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it.

2 Chronicles 18:19-22
19 And the LORD said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. 20 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The LORD said to him, ‘In what way?’ 21 So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And (the LORD) (he) said, ‘You shall persuade (him) and also prevail(h3201. יָכֹל yâḵôl); go out and do so.’ 22 Therefore look! The LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these prophets of yours, and the LORD has declared disaster against you.”
The study was done in order better to understand (see Appendix 6 Tabernacle Raw Materials) the words h8502. תִּכְלָה ṯiḵlâ, h8503. תַּכְלִית ṯaḵlîyṯ, and h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ, and in particular h8504. תְּכֵלֶת ṯeḵêleṯ, most often translated “blue.”
Please draw your own conclusions, but my conclusion, after seeing all the occurrences of תכל, is the interaction between abilities and limits. There appears to be strong connection to the entire variant family:
GV p.119 כלל complete [by including everything]; p.118 כלה strive [to attain]; p.118 כלאrestrain [prevent]; p.116 כול contain [a measured quantity]; p.104 יכל prevail; p.156 נכל plot [harm; endanger through veiled acts]
DV p.9 אכל – p.119 כלל complete [by including everything]; p.118 כלה strive [to attain] > p.9 אכל consume No other DVs – BUT see היכל just below
CM כלל encircle (C26); כלה and כלא contain/expose (C25); כול express control (C5); יכל(none listed); נכל (none listed); אכל move directly/circularly (A11)
